Great Gift Ideas for Girls ages 6-8

5 Gift Ideas for Girls Ages 6 to 8

Little girls in this age range make birthday or Christmas shopping fun for parents as they are starting to show their own unique personality and are discovering what they like and don't like. They are viewing everything with bright eyes and excitement as they learn more about the world around them. School and friends are just starting to become a part of their life. It is so much fun to watch them as they become more social with their friends.

Toys and fun activities are very much a part of their everyday life at this age. They want the latest things that they see on television or what another friend has, so that they can play together. My list of the 5 gift ideas for this age group will help parents decide on what to buy their little girls for that special day or just give them some ideas before making that big purchase.

Barbie's 3 Story Dream Townhouse:

1. My first choice on this list was an easy one, since every girl or woman out there has grown up with these dolls. That's right I am talking about Barbie and what little girl wouldn't want the Barbie Dream Townhouse for her barbie doll to hang out and play with all her friends. I remember my dream house, but it was nothing like this one with three stories and five rooms filled with furniture to complete the design, but that's not all this Dream Townhouse even has lights and sounds.  The chandelier and fireplace all light up, while fun sounds include the shower running, toilet flushing, doorbell ringing, fireplace crackling and an elevator that take Barbie from the bottom floor to the top where her bedroom and hot tub are located so she can rest and relax after a hard day of playing.

2. Lego Friends:

May be your little girls isn't really into Barbie like my daughter growing up, but still like the idea of playing with dolls. Then you might want to think about the  Lego line made just for little girls in mind. These cool Lego friends sets are great for letting girls use their imagination as they build their own world for their mini figure Lego friend dolls. There are so many different sets of these friends to choose and they provide hours of fun for any little girl. My favorite is the Heart Lake Vet series which includes two mini- figures Mia and Veterinarian Sophie, along with horse Bella, dog Scarlett and hedgehog Oscar plus everything a little girl would need to be a Vet for the day. Collect all of the Lego Friends sets for a whole world of Lego Friends fun.

Is your little girl into arts and crafts? Does she love to paint or draw for hours on end? Or tells you that her favorite time at school is art class? You have a budding little artist and these Crayola sets are prefect for encouraging that little artist. The one I pick out allow your daughter to make her own beaded jewelry, then turn them into earrings, necklaces and bracelets with all the piece that are included in this set. Crayola even sells refills for this set. I have always loved and trusted the art sets from Crayola as they open up a whole world of arts that range from painting and drawings to crafts like model building and jewelery making for children. Giving every budding artist a huge range of arts and craft to try out.

4. Cookware Sets:

Number 4 on my list are cookware and dish sets that let girl play pretend. These set are a miniature version of sets that parents use for real dinner parties or cooking in the kitchen. The variety of play kitchens, appliances, cooking and dish sets like these are great for allowing your daughter to mimic you. They can let their imaginations run wild as they create fancy meals or tea parties for their doll and other friends. These sets are a great way to get your daughter interested in cooking for herself in a real kitchen with you.  My daughter loved playing with these types of toys growing up and now loves to cook meals for the whole family, along with baking.

The last item on my great Christmas gift ideas for girls ages 6 to 8 are the Monster High Dolls. The ghouls of Monster High area huge hit among girls this age. The dolls are inspired by various monsters and demons in films therefore distinguishing them from most of the other fashion dolls. The Monster High Teens are either related to or the offspring of the famous monsters, but with a modern teenage twist. All of them have various attributes of the monsters they are related to making each doll unique. These doll were introduced in 2010 and still going strong. There is a huge selection of dolls to choose that you can miss finding one that your daughter will like or add to more to build your collection. The best thing about these dolls is that your daughter can play with them and their many accessories for hours.  My favorite is Draculaura the daughter of  you guess it Count Dracula. I love the idea that she is a vegan vampire and is scared to say the word "blood" as she faints when she hears it.
