My daughter owned a child size sewing machine growing up, but nothing like this one. She learn to sew her own clothing. In fact she still make her own clothing and costume. Having her own sewing machine taught her how to sew before advancing to my sewing machine. This little sewing machine is quite advance with features like 8 built-in stitch patterns, dual thread, double speed, plus  forward and reverse sewing and automatic thread rewind. This is a good way to let your daughter learn to sew and it just the right size to make doll clothing or simple skirts.

Barbie's 3 Story Dream Townhouse:

1. My first choice on this list was an easy one, since every girl or woman out there has grown up with these dolls. That's right I am talking about Barbie and what little girl wouldn't want the Barbie Dream Townhouse for her barbie doll to hang out and play with all her friends. I remember my dream house, but it was nothing like this one with three stories and five rooms filled with furniture to complete the design, but that's not all this Dream Townhouse even has lights and sounds.  The chandelier and fireplace all light up, while fun sounds include the shower running, toilet flushing, doorbell ringing, fireplace crackling and an elevator that take Barbie from the bottom floor to the top where her bedroom and hot tub are located so she can rest and relax after a hard day of playing.

They can let their imaginations run wild as they create fancy meals or tea parties for their doll and other friends. These sets are a great way to get your daughter interested in cooking for herself in a real kitchen with you.  My daughter loved playing with these types of toys growing up and now loves to cook meals for the whole family, along with baking.

The last item on my great Christmas gift ideas for girls ages 6 to 8 are the Monster High Dolls. The ghouls of Monster High area huge hit among girls this age. The dolls are inspired by various monsters and demons in films therefore distinguishing them from most of the other fashion dolls. Gift Ideas for Girls 4 To 6 Years Old

My Top 5 Birthday Christmas Gift Ideas For  Girls 4-6 Years:

I am the mother of two boys and one girl. You would think that buying gifts for my daughter would be easier, then the boys. But that is not necessary true. I find that girls are the hardest to buy for at this time of the year, but not at this age. 4 to 6 year old girls are the easiest age to buy gifts at Christmas as many of  them at this age still believe in Santa Claus or want everything that they see on Television.

But buying toys or trends may not be the best way to purchase gifts for this age. Sometimes that toys that little girl want are not always age appropriate and buying toys that are the latest trend might only be played with for a few weeks or if your lucky a few months. So what's a parent to do.

I have picked out 5 of my favorite toys for this age that will give you some ideas of toys that your daughter will love for the whole year and can also be add to next Christmas or for their birthday. Use these suggestions to create your own ideas or mix in with some of the ones that they see on Television.

1. Role Playing Outfits:

Young girl this age love to copy their mothers or other women in they meet and role playing is a great way for them to learn about the world around them. These costume sets from Melissa and Doug allow them to dress just like their role models and not just for Halloween. These set are more for a 4 year old or younger girl. These outfits let them dress up and learn about the different types of jobs that women can hold. This will encourage them to dream about what they want to be when they grow up.

2. Pots, Pans and Play Kitchens:

My daughters favorite gift was a toy version of my kitchen supplies. The range of pots, pans and dish set will make any little chef happy as they create their own special meal. They even have kitchen appliances that look just like the real things, some even make sounds.  There are even whole kitchen sets that can turn any space in their room or home into a ready made child's kitchen. The wide range of toy food sets can be used in both a kitchen or pretend grocery store.

3. Lego for Girls:

Lego is making sets designed just for girls to use to build and play. These sets features female mini figure and lots of basic bricks and accessories, such as plates, trees, windows, door and more. The next set up for 6 year old girls is the LEGO Friends that feature mini doll friends with all types of accessories and activities that they can create with these friends.
These set are perfect for long hour of building, creating and playing. The best part about these sets is you can add to them as your girl grows older. These are one toy that children never out grow.

4. Dolls:

Girl this age still love playing with dolls and all the accessories that go with them like stroller, cribs and high chair to feed their dolls. There are large selection to choose from every year, but my favorites are the baby dolls that are soft ones that allow this age to pretend that they are taking care of a real baby just like mommy. Little girls just seem to be drawn to that favorite doll. My daughter still has several of her doll from when she was little and many of us collect dolls as we grow up. So that first doll is something that will bring lasting memories and be cherished forever.

5. Horses :

What little girl doesn't love horses? Whether it stuffed, animated or figurines like these horse in this  stable set. Girls love to collect and play with these types of toys. The best thing about these toys is that they are not a fad or trend. These horse figurines have been around for years and are still a favorite for young girls.

These are just my suggestion of Christmas gifts ideas girls for 4 to 6 year old. I wanted to create this list to give parents, grandparents and relatives of girls this age some suggestions on what they might enjoy at this age and how to make buying that Christmas gift for that special little girl in your life a lot easier for you.

Buying Teenage Girls Clothing For Christmas

Buying Clothing for Teenage Girls as a Christmas Gift:

Christmas shopping for teenage girls can be a lot of fun. Spending some time searching for that perfect gift for a teen daughter on your list can be a great deal of fun, but also a headache. It is rewarding when you find and purchase that perfect gift you just know your daughter will treasure. However, there is one aspect of Christmas shopping which seems to be difficult for parents and that is buying clothing for their teenage daughter that they will wear.

In fact every parent seems to have at least a slight hesitation. There are just so many variables when it comes to clothes shopping for teens that it can be difficult to find the right outfit for that teenage girl on your gift list. Some of the variables which make Christmas shopping for clothing so difficult are size, color, style and material. This article will take a look at why Christmas shopping for clothing is so difficult for anyone, but especial teenage girls and will try to offer some insight into how to purchase clothing for that teenage daughter.

The matter of size is one thing that makes Christmas shopping for clothing so hard at times, because of the range of sizes from different designers and manufactures. You may have a good idea about what size your daughter is at this time, but selecting the perfect size for clothing items like pants, skirts, dresses or blazers can be difficult if you don't know how that item is cut. Items such as sweatshirts, t-shirts and sweaters in which the fit does not have to be perfectly tailored are easier to purchase, but even these items can cause problems if you select a size which is too small.

A sweatshirt or t-shirt which is too big is considered acceptable as many teens have a habit of wearing these types of shirts big as a style, but shirts which are too small can be rather uncomfortable and will not likely be worn by the teen. Sweatshirt and t-shirts are fairly easy items for parent to buy for their teen daughter as these are standard items that all teens wear, but still check out the types of sayings and colors that they all ready wear on a daily bases.

When Christmas shopping for clothing other then sweats, it is wise to stay with casual items such as jeans,t-shirts and sweaters. You might want to ask the your teenage daughter to try different types of  clothing, before purchasing any for Christmas. You might want to ask your daughter if she would prefer to receive the clothing as a surprise or to go shopping with you and try on items before you buy them. So that you have an idea of her taste and style saving you the trouble returning them after Christmas or her being upset with you because you don't understand her and her style of dressing.

Selecting colors is another difficult aspect of Christmas shopping for pre-teen and teen girls clothing. In general if you know your daughter wears a particular color often, it is safe to assume they like this color and enjoy wearing this color.  However, even this safe strategy can backfire on you at times. You may decide to purchase an article of clothing in this particular color because you see your daughter or her friends wearing the color often but you may soon find out they are tired of wearing that particular color and were hoping to receive clothing in another color to expand their wardrobe. Again you can alleviate this problem by talking to your daughter about what colors she like to wear. This lets her know you are planning to purchase clothing for her for Christmas, but does not give away the type of clothing or style.

Perhaps one of the most hardest parts about purchasing clothing for teenage girls is understanding the latest trends or style and it is even worse during Christmas when you are trying to find a gift that will appeal to a teenage girl. If you are purchasing clothing as a gift for your teenage daughter. You may have a fairly good idea about the type of clothing she likes because you see what she wears everyday, but it can still be difficult to find that perfect outfit which fits her idea of style and that you approve of also. Again one of the best ways to deal with this situation is to ask either her or her friends what is the latest trends for teens or have them go with you on that shopping trip and see what they pick out. That way you will have some idea of the types of clothing or outfits your teen daughter seem drawn to and you can select the right type of clothing that fits her style not yours, but still makes both of you happy when she wears it.

A great place to shop for clothing for teenage girls is online at stores like Amazon as you can see her taste and not give away the surprise before Christmas.
